Hello, photography friends! This morning, I’m off to the lake with a couple of my besties (no kids or husbands, what?!) but, before I head out, I wanted to roll back the clock to last year and share Sara and Jonny’s Greek Orthodox wedding with y’all!
Sara and Jonny planned to marry in California but, when covid shut everything down, they switched their plans! Wanting go keep their wedding close to Northwest Arkansas, they planned the sweetest church wedding in Rogers, Arkansas. Following the ceremony, they had a wonderful reception at Under the Woods! This was my first time shooting a Greek Orthodox wedding and my first time at Under the Woods. Both were beautiful! Their ceremony was so lovely and the grounds at Under the Woods are stunning!
Like so many of my couples, Sara and Jonny were infectious on their wedding day. Their marriage celebration was full of so much singing, so much love, so many well wishes, and, most of all, so much joy. These two are the absolute cutest and I’m super excited to share their wedding day with you! Here’s three things I loved about Sara and Jonny’s wedding!
One: The Flower Color Palette
Sara and Jonny had the loveliest color palette for their wedding! They had lots of jewel tones including hot pink, Burgundy, and teal. Sara and Jonny (is it weird that I love their names together?) also incorporated a lot of toffee in their color palette and I am obsessed with the roses below. Like, so obsessed I’m growing them + three other similar roses in my backyard. Ha!
Also, these candles?! I freaking love bright colored candles. These had such a pop!
Two: Those Ceremony Looks!
When I think back to our wedding day, I always think of Andrew’s eyes sparkling as he took my hand. Maybe it’s because of that memory or maybe it’s because I’m a total sucker for love but looks like these during the ceremony are my fave! Sara and Jonny couldn’t stop sneaking peeks at each other and the joy just radiated from every inch of both their bodies. Look at Sara’s smile!! She made such a beautiful bride!
Three: Jonny During the Reception Toasts!
Y’all. I have met a lot of grooms in my time as a wedding photographer but I’ll be real: Jonny was one of the most amped up grooms I’ve ever met! This man sparkled! Like, I can’t even think of another word for how happy Jonny was during his and Sara’s wedding reception. Along with so much laughter, so many stolen kisses (so cute!!), and some pretty funny stories (Jonny was roommates with Sara’s brother!), Jonny also surprised Sara with a song he’d written specifically for their wedding day. It was beautiful!
Sara and Jonny, I’m just as happy for y’all + your amazing marriage as I was last summer! Your wedding was so full of love and happiness and color during such a dark time and I just feel so lucky that Andrew and I got to photograph your day. Thank you for the light!
