Y’all. These photographs speak to my soul.
As a long time wedding photographer in Fayetteville (coming up on a decade of shooting weddings in Northwest Arkansas!), I so love creating fun shots with fellow wedding visionaries. My favorite wedding vendors are fellow wedding vendors with a ton of passion, a ton of heart, and an amazing amount of soul. Lucky for me, all my wedding industry friends have these qualities in spades and it totally shows through in their work! And this shoot? It was so good for my heart! I had a blast creating this shoot with my girl Hannah of Fleurish, my model Alyssa (love her!), and my awesome friend Shae of Brushed Beauty.
While planning this shoot with Hannah, we wanted to take a traditional studio bridal shoot and flip it on its head. Rather than shooting a bridal look on on a solid backdrop, I dyed and painted two unique backdrops, convinced Alyssa to temporarily dye her hair blue (did I mention I love her?), and watched as Shae created some serious makeup magic. That eyeshadow pop! That chignon! I can’t even believe how gorgeous Alyssa looked at this shoot – and she’s freaking stunning all of the time!
For flowers, Hannah made a bouquet + a chair installment (obsessed!) full of greens, whites, and lavenders + peachy pinks. Her arrangement was light and airy and so, so dreamy. It was perfect!! Then, when we switched to our darker backdrop and lighter dress, we switched out bouquets for a moody little number full of dark purples and reds and dark colors as close to black as black flowers can be. That was perfect, too! I’m always so blown away by the art Hannah creates with her arrangements and the same goes for Shae + the photographs Alyssa always helps me create. In love with this shoot concept, these photographs, this fun day, and all the lovely people who pulled this idea together. And most of all? So freaking excited to share these!!
