I had my first shoot back last week and – y’all! – it was so much fun!
How could it not be with a little love like this?!
The day after I came home from the hospital with Poppy, I put her on the floor on top of one of my favorite quilts and took the simplest baby photographs ever. The photographs were so adorable (here’s a few!) and warm and cozy and took me absolutely no time at all so, as I looked over them to start editing, I thought to myself “Why am I not shooting these all the time?!” And y’all! That little question was a game changer! I love babies so much and have always loved lifestyle newborn sessions so, today, I am super excited to officially announce that I’ve added a brand new baby package into my portrait collections!
Here’s how they work! Simple baby sessions are more or less the exact same baby portraits that I take whenever I shoot lifestyle newborn sessions in family homes. Instead of going out and photographing babies in-home with their families, though, these sessions are focused solely on the baby and take place in my home office! The shooting time for these is super short – twenty minutes! – and, while parents are definitely welcome to bring their own blankets and baby toys, I have a stash of a million baby blankets and quilts ready to go for baby portraits! I am so excited about these sweet little sessions and also so thrilled that, as soon as I snuck them onto my website a few weeks ago, they started booking like crazy! I’ll be photographing so many beautiful babies this fall and I’m so excited to share these sweet photographs of three month old Lucan!
Besides Penelope, Lucan was the very first baby I photographed in my office and I am just so thrilled with these! Since this was my first shoot back, I was a little scattered but Lucan’s amazing parents were totally along for the ride and we got the cutest images of this guy! Get ready to smile huge at these!! And YES! In the last set of photographs, he totally scared himself by growling too hard. Hahaha. Sweetest bear ever!
