Last Sunday, after church, my boys and I piled on the bed and we took a bunch of selfies with my iPhone.
Henry wriggled. Max cheesed it up. Andrew jumped in and out. I laughed.
This time of life is so brief. When Max was a baby, it seemed like he would be a baby forever and those days seem so long gone now that he’s been Batman’s biggest fan for over two years. He is creeping closer and closer to his fifth birthday and I cannot believe how fast this chapter of life is going. Henry is the same – I swear he was just born and, somehow, he’s a two year old with opinions and a fierce love for dinosaurs and the (cutest!) gruffest voice on the planet. He used to scream for hours if I left him – he literally screamed for five hours at my parents’ house once when Andrew and I went on a date while visiting them in Kansas City – and, a few weeks ago, he shut the front door on me when one of his babysitters, Sam, came to watch him. It’s been said time and time again, but the days are long but the years are short and I cannot believe how big these kids are getting!
Here’s to building more Lego’s and squeezing more cheeks everyday! Being a mom is the greatest and I could not be more in love with my boys, even when they wake me up super early in the morning and want Totino’s pizza for breakfast (which happens more often than one might think).
