Winter Wedding at the Apollo on Emma: Three Things I Loved About Claire and Alex’s Wedding

The Most Fun Winter Wedding at The Apollo on Emma

Y’all! I just found this in my drafts folder! I remember writing this right after Claire and Alex’s winter wedding and, eleven months later, I’m so excited to dust it off and to share it (and some absolutely fun + colorful wedding photos!) with y’all. Here we go! Last December, Andrew and I photographed Claire and Alex’s wedding at The Apollo on Emma and it was a freaking blast. Claire and Alex are such a fun + genuine couple and their wedding was a total riot of family, friends, and so many cheers. So excited for these two awesome people and all life has in store for them, too!

Here’s three things I loved about their beautiful winter wedding day!

One: The Light Streak During Their Family Wedding Ceremony

Claire and Alex did one of my very favorite unique winter wedding ideas: a small family ceremony.

Y’all know I love weddings of all shapes and sizes but, honesty, small family wedding ceremonies always tug at my heart strings. They are so sweet, so full of emotion, and just a fantastic way for couples who love the idea of eloping and the idea of having a big party. Claire and Alex had their ceremony on the Apollo on Emma’s courtyard and, a half hour later, guests started trickling in to celebrate them, their wedding, and their amazing future, too!

And that light streak during their wedding ceremony? Ah! It was a freaking dream!

Two: The Tacos and Toasts, Obviously

I feel like I could write a whole bunch about tacos – they are, after all, one of my very favorite foods – but instead I’m just going to post a few photographs. The taco bar at Claire and Alex’s wedding was such a fun way to kick off their wedding celebration! They were a huge hit and tasted AMAZING!

As for the toasts? They were non-stop at the Apollo’s bar and on the floor and so freaking fun.

Three: These Quick Night Portraits

I love a good night portrait. And night portraits with a theater lit up in the background? It was an absolute dream. Lately, I’ve been doing lots of extremely fast night portraits at every wedding – I’m talking five minutes of shooting / basically just one song! – and they bring so much joy and fun into the overall feel of my wedding galleries. I’m obsessed! Love shooting these quick portraits so much!

Claire and Alex, y’all are the best! Thank you so much for having us photograph your wedding! We loved hanging with y’all so much!
