Look no further! This session is a riot!
If you’ve followed along with the evolution of my side business Opal and June – it started as photoshoot dress rentals and has evolved into the cutest bookish + history merch + the most extra mockup photos! – then you already know Ava. This girl is one of my absolute faves ever. I met her at a photoshoot for Shop Impressions in 2021, hired her as a twice a week babysitter for Poppy in 2022, and, in 2023 + 2024, photographed her every single week for mockup photos. And once she graduated from the U of A? I brought her on as my social media manager for Opal and June!
So when I say she’s one of my absolute faves ever? I mean it! I adore this girl!
And the day before she graduated? We took these absolutely stellar photographs of her + her boyfriend Cam. These two are absolutely adorable, totally in love, and also were up for the most creative and fun ideas. Ava even came over before our shoot to build the flower set out of garden flowers + baby’s bread, too! This session is a little slice of my heart and I’m so excited to share these photos with you! They’re so cool!
Golden Hour and Night Time Couple Photographs
A little more about this shoot! I’m always a little nervous when I suggest night photographs to couples – they’re not really the norm! – but, when I drove past this dress at an outdoor flea market, stopped the car, and saw it was in Ava’s size, I knew that, eventually, we’d be shooting it at night. What I didn’t expect? How freaking amazing the light would be in the parking lots of Fayetteville Square! I’m at Fayetteville Square + the surrounding shops so much that they truly feel like an extension of home and it was so wonderful to explore the area at night with Ava and Cam as we celebrated them + their awesome connection. Cam totally rocked his first photoshoot and the night photographs are some of my very faves!
I could say a whole bunch more – about how I call Ava my mockup daughter or about how she and Cam are so great together and at least three funny stories from our shoot – but, instead, let’s get to those photos! These are a total vibe and I’m so excited to share ’em!
