Colorful Wedding Photos in Sugar House
In April, Andrew and I loaded up my car and drove across the country to hang out with his parents for a couple of days! Andrew’s dad had gifted him tickets to the Nuggets v Jazz game in Salt Lake (my husband is a die hard Nuggets fan, lol) and I tagged along to do one of my very favorite things: shoot a whole bunch of colorful wedding photos in the span of a few days. This trip was a total blast and I’m so excited to share my photographs with y’all!
Up First! We’ve got an in-home bridal session (shoutout to Peerspace!) with so much texture, color, and baby’s breath. When I saw this rental on Peerspace, I knew I needed to bring along this hot pink Opal and June blazer and, from there, was so excited to build out a shoot full of baby’s breath and all the color. Did I mention there was a lot of color (and incredible light!) in these photographs? It’s like it’s my favorite thing, lol.
Creating Texture in Colorful Photos with Plants + All the Dreamy Light
I love colorful wedding photography – and any kind of colorful photography! – with my whole heart and I have two favorite ways to bring color out with a little extra oomph. The first is texture. This could be anything (literally just texture in a wall!) but, at this shoot, I really embraced the way the plants fell in the background and incorporated a ton of images shooting with Fractal rings to add more visual interest to my photographs. The second is light! I freaking love light – it’s literally the driving force of photography! – and, at this shoot, really tried to embrace the way the light fell into the house + on items through the windows. I absolutely love creating photographs like this so this colorful wedding shoot was a total blast!
Not Pictured: Andrew, my wonderful mother-in-law Chris, and Em’s mom hanging out with us! This shoot was a total joy to bring to life and I’m so excited to share these fun photos of Em + Jeff. This was Em’s first bridal session ever and Jeff’s first bridal shoot with a model he’d just met and I think they absolutely crushed it! Also cannot recommend Amber of Stars Talent Studio enough. This was a last minute trip on my end and she was incredible setting me up with models just a few days before my shoots! Thanks so much, Amber!! You are the absolute best!
