Every once in a while, a photography dream comes true.
I have a lot of photography dreams. To name a few, I want to photograph a wedding in an aquarium (I love how the light moves!), an elopement on a gondola in Venice, a sweet family session in the middle of cherry blossom season in D.C. (basic but BEAUTIFUL!), and I want to photograph rad styled shots of rings for an amazing jewelry company and so many more things, too – a family session complete with dinosaurs, a wedding in Greece, an engagement session in a subway (complete with pizza!), an elopement at Salvation Mountain, a family session at a theme park, and a bridal session styled on a black paper background. There’s so many possibilities with photography and, this past summer, my dreams of an art deco styled shoot came true and I’m still pinching myself! I mean, look at this!! Be still my heart!
And THIS!! Can you even get over Olivia of Tribe Management?! She is gorgeous!
This shoot came together with the help of so many rad people.
Held in Nashville at the Hermitage Hotel (it is BEAUTIFUL!), I never could have pulled this together without some incredible Nashville, Memphis, and Birmingham wedding vendors who were crazy flexible when the planning process threw us some major twists and turns. This shoot required travel for so many busy people and, several months later, I’m still so excited about how the whole thing panned out. It was perfect!! These vendors are all amazing and I’m so thankful to all of them and their help in making this day such a phenomenal success! We shot for hours and I could have kept shooting the whole rest of the day, too!
Venue: The Hermitage Hotel // Florals: Designs by LRH // Hair and Makeup: Joanna Bland Artistry // Wedding Gowns: M. Elizabeth Bridal and Posh Bridal featuring heart-stopping Berta and Inbal Dror gowns (Stacey is AMAZING! If you are in Nashville, put M. Elizabeth on your designer gown bridal store list ASAP and then move it up to number one!) // Models: Annsley, Olivia, and Melia of Tribe Talent // Dinnerware: Tea and Old Roses // Linens: I Do Linens // Cakes: Whole Foods // Bridesmaid Dresses: Opal and June
Here’s those photographs, y’all! Seriously stoked to share them with you today!
Also! Not going to lie – sharing styled shoots that I’ve planned from start to finish always make me feel a little jittery because so much of my heart is in them. I love photography and I love the way it brings so many incredible creative thoughts to life but, mostly, I just really love the way photography makes people (including me!) feel. I love this concept and these photographs and I hope y’all do, too!
Y’all!! We shot most of our shoot at The Hermitage Hotel’s veranda (those windows!!) but snuck downstairs to take a few photographs in this art deco bathroom! Can you even believe this is real?! Love it!
And back to the veranda + this amazing table setup by Tea and Old Roses (she’s in Birmingham!), Designs by LRH (she’s in Memphis!) and I Do Linens! Leah at LRH Designs saved my booty with this shoot. I’d had another florist lined up for several months but, a week or two before, they had to back out. I can whip up a cute – and definitely amateur – bouquet pretty fast but, for this, I definitely wanted someone who knew what they were doing so I posted in a Facebook group and found Leah! Seriously grateful for her and her willingness to drive out to Nashville to join in on this shoot!
