Three Things I Love About Sassafras Springs! | Wedding Venue in Springdale, Arkansas!

Hello, Tuesday!!

Today, I thought we’d do something a little different. While I’m 99% sure I will never catch up on blogging my sessions from 2017 (which is a bummer because I had the most AMAZING clients and made the most incredible friends!), I wanted to take a moment and spotlight an awesome venue in our area – Sassafras Springs! It’s funny – I never stepped foot on this property until Kylie and Brett’s insanely perfect wedding but, between October 2016 and September 2017, we had six weddings at Sassafras and, so far, we have three on the books for this year. It’s not often that we shoot at a venue this frequently – with our out of state weddings and our backyard and church weddings, our weddings at Northwest Arkansas venues are usually spread out over lots of different venues so shooting nine weddings here in the span of two years is super awesome and also totally unprecedented. In fact, I don’t think we’ve ever shot at another venue more than three times in one year – St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable, The Inn at Carnall Hall, and Mildred B. Cooper Chapel all hold that record! – so Sassafras definitely has a special place in our hearts! We love it!!

Here’s three things I love about Sassafras Springs in Springdale, Arkansas!

One! The Light

I know! I have written this very thing on so many Three Things I Loved blog posts in the past year but the light at Sassafras Springs is truly magical. It’s the kind of light that totally envelopes everything and, while every wedding day should feel romantic and splendid and even though Sassafras would be gorgeous without any dreamy light, the light is so warm and beautiful and it’s just truly an unbeatable feeling to photograph a happy just-married bride and groom in the vineyard at sunset. It’s the best and I can’t wait for my April weddings at Sassafras – we have two! – to get out there and do it all again!

Two! The Chapel Ruins

Orrrrrr if I’m going to get super specific, I love the stones at the chapel ruins. They feel so old and beautiful and welcoming and the whole ceremony setup is just totally lovely. The first time I saw a styled shoot at Sassafras – I believe I saw a photographer friend post a styled shoot before I ever saw a full wedding! – I was so impressed with how unique and rad the chapel ruins feel. They’re wonderful!

Three! Sassafras Looks Good in EVERY Kind of Weather

Planning a wedding in Arkansas can be a little tricky because the weather here is super unpredictable – I’ve had weddings the last week of October that were frigid cold and weddings the last week of October where everyone sweat through their shirts – but, at Sassafras, the venue shines in both cold weather and warm weather. We’ve shot here at nearly every temperature – it was 12 degrees for Jennifer and Taylor’s wedding and in the high nineties at Lydia and Tyler’s wedding! – and every single wedding has been so gorgeous. Hayden and Cameron’s wedding even took place outside in freezing rain and it was stunning!

And sparkler exits? The are the BEST here! Total magic with those string lights!

If you are planning a wedding in Northwest Arkansas, definitely look into Sassafras and tell them we sent you! It the most beautiful venue and we love shooting here so much!
