Y’all. I’m so excited to share these photographs.
It is ten o’clock on a Monday night and I’m super sleep deprived (because, children) and the comma key on my laptop keeps sticking and my dog is totally zonked out across the living room and I’m having all the feels from finally sitting down and reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child but I am so excited to share these photographs that, instead of going to bed or hashing out my feelings about Harry Potter for the third (yes, third!) time tonight, I’m going to stay up and blog these photographs to share with y’all instead. Because this session? It was amazing! So amazing that it’s amazingness tops the glory of the run-on sentence above. So! Let’s get started.
Annabelle and Addison have been friends since they were three years old.
They met each other at a dance class in Fayetteville and, fourteen years later, I met them at Praire Grove Battlefield Park, sat them down on a bench, and braided their hair with butterflies and a whole bunch of bobby pins. These two girls are the sweetest. Annabelle (the brunette!) is a 2017 Senior at Fayetteville High School and she is absolutely lovely – she’s so thoughtful and well spoken! Addison (the blonde!) is a 2017 Senior at Alma High School and she bursts with life and spunk the moment you meet her. These two have such an awesome friendship and I loved photographing them!
Also, can you believe that Addison had a broken leg in these photographs? She is a total boss.
Not gonna lie – there was a Pokemon Go party happening right behind Addison and Annabelle in the following photographs. I had to clone so many people out of these! #worthit
Some of y’all might remember my butterfly shoot with Hope back in 2014.
My session with Hope included live butterflies and, much to the heartbreak of Hope, her (adorable!) mom and myself, some of the butterflies died! We were all so sad when this happened and, afterwards, I knew that, eventually, I wanted to do a session with fake butterflies. I was a little unsure about how everything would come together for this shoot – I’d never wired wreath decorations into someone’s hair before! – and, honestly, I just love how these photographs burst with life. The cloth butterflies in these photographs brought such a spark to our session and, honestly, looking at these photographs makes me want to take them all over again. This session was such a blast!
Never underestimate the power of a small – and unique! – prop! I love these!
Thanks for being so much fun to photograph, Annabelle and Addison! Y’all are awesome and I hope y’all have the most amazing Senior Year! Can’t believe it’s almost time for a new Senior Season!
Don’t forget to Book Your Senior Session before time runs out! My fall calendar this year is bananas and, if you like happy photographs and bright colors, I so want you on it!
