MacKenzie is, like, a breath of fresh air.
Here are some things that happened at her session!
One: While taking photographs of MacKenzie next to a pond, something jumped by my foot. Thinking this was a snake, I screamed – like, actually screamed – and then looked down to see that it was a frog. Everyone laughed at me. And even better? A day or two after this session, I saw someone post a photograph of a HUGE snake found in Tanyard Creek. And since these photographs were taken at Tanyard Creek? That frog totally could have been a snake!! Except, it wasn’t. It was definitely a frog.
Two: Speaking of laughing, we laughed through MacKenzie’s entire session. My friend Lauren came with me to MacKenzie’s session and all four of us – including MacKenzie’s mom! – had the best time. I swear someone was laughing the entire two and half hours we spent together. It was awesome and so uplifting and my cheeks hurt afterwards.
Three: We put sequins in a bathtub. Read on to see how!
Aren’t the lilacs in MacKenzie’s flower crown amazing? I found them at the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market (also known as my home every Saturday morning… and sometimes every Tuesday and Thursday morning, too) and I’m obsessed with them. They seriously smelled like heaven and, basically, I think I need to plant a lilac bush in my yard somewhere. If only I had a green thumb!
MacKenzie is so full of joy. The photograph above is one of my very favorite Senior Photographs I have ever taken. This girl is infectious and I love how her personality explodes from her photographs!
Also, let’s talk about these water photographs! MacKenzie was my very first water session of 2016 (hooray!) and, because she loves mermaids, I put in some extra light flares and leaks in her photographs when editing. I love how these turned out – they are so fun!!
After the water portion of MacKenzie’s session, we headed to MacKenzie’s house for the last part of her session. MacKenzie’s family has the most beautiful house ever with the most gorgeous sunset view. It was so fun to be able to photograph MacKenzie in her home!
And last but certainly not least! Here’s those sequin shots!
This idea was 100% MacKenzie’s and it was so fun to see it come to life. MacKenzie is crazy creative – she even had a film picked for the Bentonville Film Festival! – and it was such a delight to photograph her and get to know her. Way to be wonderful, MacKenzie!
