This year, I kind of have a weird wedding schedule.
Since I started photographing weddings, April and May have always been my most heavily booked months. This year, though, I only have one wedding in April and May combined. This is so crazy! Calendars have a way of balancing out, though, and because the majority of my weddings are in the fall this year, I’ve spent the last few weeks photographing lots of engagement sessions with awesome couples and, today, I am super excited to introduce y’all to Charlie and James!
Charlie and James currently live in Southern Missouri and, when they drove down to Fayetteville for a day full of wedding planning, boutique shopping, and cake testing, we squeezed their engagement session in at eleven o’clock on a Monday morning. It was the perfect session! Both of my kids were at school, none of us were trampled by horses, the weather was wonderful and, best of all, Charlie and James were super fun to photograph. These two are so in love and it shines through all that they do!
Shooting an engagement session at eleven in the morning makes for some ca-razy light. We got so many kinds of awesome and unique light during James and Charlie’s session but I LOVE the crazy light below. Way to show off, Pratt Place Barn!
Seriously. When I look at these, I can hear Charlie giggling. I love it!
After a quick outfit change, we walked around the Inn a bit and I made Charlie and James model for me on a couch. Not going to lie – I kind of fangirled over this set up and we’ll totally be coming back to this couch when Charlie is wearing her wedding dress on their October wedding day. The light was so dreamy and I’m totally into the couch pattern, too. A sweet bridal portrait here is a must!
