I have had the best time getting to know my 2016 Senior Models over the past year and, now that graduation is around the corner, I’ll be celebrating each of them by posting Senior Model Spotlight interviews every Wednesday from now until the end of school. Here’s Alyssa, y’all!
Name: Alyssa Elizabeth Tidwell
High School: Fayetteville High School
It’s Saturday night. What are you doing? On Saturday night I’m probably passed out on the couch, exhausted from a day of hiking, watching an old spy movie with a bunch of friends.
What activities have you been involved in during High School? Choir is my #1, I’ve done it all throughout high school and I’m the VP this year. And if I’m not at school, I’m most likely at church – my favorite place to be with my favorite people. I’m a member of the worship team and a student ministry leader. I’m also the publicist for National Honor Society at school and the photo editor for the school’s literary magazine “Connotations”. I was also on track as an underclassman.
What do you wish you would have known before Senior Year? I wish I had known that staying in a sport would pay off. I recently realized how much fun being active and competitive is, and I really enjoy going to football, volleyball, and basketball games.
What’s been your favorite part of Senior Year so far? The best part of my senior year so far, besides being a Lissa Chandler senior model, is the friendships I’ve made. I guess once you get to the end of high school, you realize you’ve never really connected with many of the people around you, and they turn out to be fantastic! So I’ve really broadened my horizons this year, stepped out of my comfort zone, and met a lot of really amazing people.
What are your plans after graduation? This summer I am headed to San Antonio, TX for boot camp, and then I will join the 188th Air Wing of the Arkansas National Guard. I will be a freshman at the UofA Honors College next year, and I plan to major in English, French, and/or international relations and become a teacher. 🙂 That’s “the plan” anyway….
Any advice for upcoming seniors? My advice for upcoming seniors is – get involved, don’t let little moments pass you by because they turn out to be the best and most meaningful. Don’t sleep, make lots of friends and have lots of fun, and take this time to discover who you are and what you want to live for.Weddings | Engagements | Seniors | Families | Personal
