In January, I sat down at Red Kite Coffee with the sweetest bride ever and, as we were laughing and talking about her upcoming wedding, she stopped suddenly when flipping through one of my sample albums and gushed, “That’s my fiancé!!” and I looked down and saw this photograph from Jake and Rose’s wedding at Stone Chapel at Matt Lane Farm.“He’s got a beard now,” she laughed as she continued to look at the album and, honestly, it was the cutest thing ever because seeing Lauren see her fiancé in a book unexpectedly was just beyond adorable. Lauren is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met – she is super funny and lovely and wonderful – and I am so thrilled to have her as one of my 2016 Brides. She is one of those girls that you can’t help but want to be friends with automatically – she is so full of life! – and I am super excited for her to marry JK this summer. Their wedding is going to be full of so much love!
So! Let’s get going with this blog post!
Lauren and JK met in college through their Student Ministry. After taking a trip to India, they had their very first date in Florida – complete with the beach (good job, JK!) – and their engagement session was a total blast. I think we laughed through the entire shoot – from the start of the shoot where I couldn’t find change for parking to the middle of the shoot where we were busted for shooting on the steps of someone’s house (I thought it was beautifully abandoned!) to the end where Lauren and JK heard me mourn the loss of my very favorite field to a frisbee golf course – their session was perfect. Even the weather was perfect! And if my afternoon with these two taught me anything? It taught me that these two are in for an awesome life together. Way to be an awesome couple, y’all!
See what I mean?! These two are adorable! Like, I’ve only just met them and seeing them together makes me grin so hard… and I mean that in the least creepy / most wedding photographer way ever.
I am totally into the location above. ^^^ How gorgeous is that building?! I’d never come across it before and now I want to use it for all of my urban shoots ever. I mean, hello, Southern charm!
We got the perfect sunset for JK and Lauren’s engagement session and, nearly two weeks later, I’m still so happy about it. So glad spring is (finally!) here!
