Last May, I woke up crazy early on a weekday morning to photograph a just-for-fun session with Maddi because she is awesome and also because I loved the flowers in the photographs below. It was such a fun (and cloudy!) morning!
I first met Maddi when Lauren and I photographed her back in the summer of 2014 and I liked her enormously right off the bat. Maddi is super funny and super sassy and, honestly, she’s just kind of cool. I mean, could someone with lavender hair not be cool? I think no! This girl is so full of life and fun and she’s also super creative and artsy to boot – she’s an art student at the University of Arkansas – and I loved photographing her this past summer.
But! As luck would have it, the past seven months have been a total whirlwind and Maddi’s session sat in my Lightroom catalog until late Sunday night. I was really bummed that I had to wait so long to edit these photographs but, you guys, editing bright green photographs in the middle of January was, like, lightning to my soul. I loved editing Maddi’s photographs. The color in these makes me so excited for the upcoming spring and summer and even the fall – this year is going to be so good (have I mentioned I’m going to Amsterdam in the spring?!) and being able to work on these summer photographs on a winter day was exactly what this summertime girl needed. I love these photographs so much and am so thrilled to share them with y’all today!
And Maddi?! Thanks for being so spectacular! You are awesome and, since we’ve done water photographs two years in a row, pretty sure we’ll need to do them again this year, too. Water photographs are my fave!
