Two days after Thanksgiving, I photographed Reagan Wray in a campus parking garage.
This was not how our session was supposed to go. It was supposed to go like this: along with (the adorable!) Kristen Grisham, I was going to photograph Reagan at the cutest lake in Fayetteville. Kristen has been shadowing me at some of my sessions lately – the first one was for fun and the last few have been for an up and coming hasn’t-been-announced-yet project that includes Kristen filming me while I photograph fun sessions at random locations (details on this to come soon!). So! Because this session was going to be recorded, I wanted it to be kind of perfect. I mean, I had a vision! I wanted a dried up old dam and golden light and water all over the background and the very last hint of fall shining through every single facet of my camera lens. I mean, I was determined!
But! My vision was not to be. Instead of photographing Reagan on a sunny day surrounded by water and late fall foliage, I photographed Reagan on the third day of a (crazy!) four day rain storm and it was rainy and cold and funny and awesome and perfect. You guys – I love how these photographs turned out. They were not what I initially planned at all – cement just isn’t quite the same as a lake, y’know? – but, honestly, I think these turned out even better than they would have if my plans had worked out flawlessly. This session was so much fun to shoot and, while I don’t say this often (if ever?), I’m just going to say it here: I’m obsessed with these photographs.
And because I’m obsessed with them? I am SO excited to share them! Here is Reagan, y’all!
And exciting news! On January 19th to February 3rd, I’ll have a breakout running with Clickin’ Moms where you can watch me shoot (and edit!) three photographs from this session!
