I first met the Mitchell family in 2011 when I photographed them in a library.
I had been living in Fayetteville for about four months when I met them for their extended family photo session four years ago and, I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous! The weather was cold and I was still real shy (owning my own business for nearly five years has totally shattered the shy world I used to live in) and I wanted their session to be perfect. And it was! I loved their session and, when I heard from Heather several years later about photographing her family, I was totally down. I loved seeing them again and cannot believe how big their kids have grown!
I’ve mentioned before that I’m a big reader and, during this session, I talked with the twins about The Lunar Chronicles because they were reading it and I had just finished listening to it on audiobook (I listen to a ton of audiobooks while I edit) and then, after I talked about Young Adult books with the girls (because, naturally, I have read all of them – they’re like candy!), I turned around and talked with Heather about Serial and, after our session was over, I had to laugh at myself because editing has given me the opportunity to listen to everything and I love it when my clients also listen to audiobooks and podcasts because then we have a ton to talk about and I love it. Annnnd I totally just went on a tangent in the last paragraph but I’m super excited to share these family photographs! The Mitchell family is such a fun, lively, and happy family and it was so wonderful to see them after several years, hear about their lives, and laugh with them. I loved this session!
