I’m so excited to be sharing Hattie and Rob’s Engagement Session tonight!
Hattie and Rob are getting married in August 2016 at Pratt Place Inn & Barn and, for days (weeks?) leading up to their engagement session, I was super excited to finally meet them face to face. But! As luck would love it! On the day of their engagement session, I woke up with the worst cold of my life. This fall, Max is in preschool three times a week and Henry is at a Kid’s Day Out program once a week and, together, they (and their germs!) make a deadly combination. And when I woke up on the morning of Hattie and Rob’s engagement session barely able to say a word? Well! I was less than thrilled. But! Despite this! We marched on and I photographed Hattie and Rob’s engagement session hopped up on, like, three different kinds of cold medicine and, because of this, their engagement session – which took place at Block Street Records, Downtown Fayetteville, and Lake Fayetteville – was one of the funniest photography experiences of my life. Their session was awesome and hilarious and their photographs are some of my favorite engagement photographs that I have ever taken. I love these two and am so excited to be their wedding photographer!
Hattie and Rob’s photographs are so full of light and happiness and love and I love the way that their personalities shine in these photographs. These two love music so much – Rob has always been in bands (at least one at a time!) and he met Hattie when she came to visit her friend (also his bandmate!) while they were recording an album in Kansas City – so, from the very start of their relationship, music has been so important to them and I absolutely love this about them. These two are such an awesome couple! They are the best and I’m so happy for them that they are about to tie the knot and I’m also, like, super glad that they are totally chill and rolled with it when I shot their session basically in my pajamas with two-day old hair while laughing and saying “I’m just on a lot of drugs medicine!” while photographing them and telling them ridiculous stories about myself and my family because, well, that’s what I do at my photography sessions: Talk like a maniac, laugh like a maniac, and squeal over my clients. And Hattie and Rob? They are totally squeal worthy + the easiest couple to get along with ever. You can trust me on this!! And Bonus! Hattie and I have, like, the exact same taste in shoes and I love this about her because shoes are my favorite.
