Emily is such an amazing and happy person who is just so full of love and joy.
I mean it! If you could bottle Emily up in a bottle, she’d basically be rainbows and butterflies and, hopefully, there would also be a recipe for awesome hair in there, too (her hair is always amazing!). Emily is one of those unique girls who just makes the world feel a little bit lighter. She is so nice and so great to be around and photographing her was a dream. Also, on top of being amazing, Emily is friends with Emily, one of my (wonderful!) 2015 Senior Models and she was also a guest at Kayla and Evan’s wedding back in May (where, coincedintally , I came incredibly close to slipping on a huge pile of mud right next to Emily during the ceremony). She is friends with so many wonderful people so it makes sense that she would be lovely as well!
Emily sings and runs for Bentonville High School and, for her session, we started in an abandoned building right behind her house. As we were walking over, Emily said that the legend was that it’s been around since before the Civil War so, let’s be honest, the building in the photographs below is most likely haunted and, on top of that, it was SO much fun to shoot in. The floorboards were rickety and about to fall apart (Emily may have nearly fallen through a board at one point) and the building was the most wonderful start to our session. I loved photographing her in such a unique place!
Also! I LOVED how Emily brought her Bible to her session. I think that, for religious girls, this is such a nice touch to add to their portrait sessions and just think it is so sweet – both Alyssa and Kelsie included their Bibles in their sessions, too – and I really can’t think of anything lovelier. I love being able to photograph so many wonderful people and am so thrilled to share Emily’s senior photographs with y’all! Here she is!!
