Half a year ago, I was cooped up in our apartment in the middle of horrible weather and a horrible cold and, while browsing Etsy (which, let’s be honest, is one of my very favorite pasttimes), I came across the most gorgeous dress of my life.
When I saw this dress, my jaw dropped. This dress is vintage and flirty and adorable and so incredibly unique and, when I saw it, I scooped it up, paid for it, and then sent the link to, like, all of my photography friends (and also posted the link on Clickin Moms) as I gushed about how it was the most amazing dress on the planet. I mean, can you image getting married in this dress? It would be so amazing and fun and basically just a dream.
So! When the time to pick a model came, I was a little nervous – I wanted to love the model as much as I loved the dress and I really wanted to love how the bride looked while wearing the dress and, when one of my 2015 Senior Models, Kelly-Rae, mentioned her sister during a Casing Call, I automatically knew that we had a winner. Seriously – this dress looks like it was made just for Hilary and I could not have asked for a better model to help this vision come to life. It sounds cheesy but, as I photographed Hilary at Lake Elmdale, I fell more in love with photography than ever before – and I say that as someone who is so crazy passionate about photography that I talk about it non-stop and that, recently, my five year old built me a camera out of Lego’s because he’s the sweetest. I love photography and I love unique dresses and I love having fun shooting and this session with Hilary was the bee’s knees.
