After I finished my session with Katie and Drew, I called my mom and said this:
“It finally happened! I just photographed a bride who acts exactly like me!”
Naturally, my mom laughed at me and made some comment about how there was probably a lot of squealing and chattering and ridiculousness. And there was! There was a ton of laughing and talking and and fun and clapping and, basically, I can’t wait for Katie and Drew’s October wedding at Creekwood Gardens. I knew that I was going to love Katie from the very moment I received her inquiry – she sounded so excited and relatable and genuinely nice – and, as soon as I met her in person, I was like, “We’re basically the same person” and, in response, Katie kept saying to Drew, “Now there’s two of us!” and poor Drew just shook his head every time. Ha!
Seriously, though! Katie and Drew are a fantastic couple. They have the funniest getting together story that started with swiping right (everyone hip knows what that means right?!), went on to the funniest texting fight I’ve ever heard of between two people who had never met in person, kept going with Drew waiting for Katie to show up to their first date for, like, two hours, and ended with them falling in love and getting engaged. And later on down the road after they’ve been married for a few years? It’s going to result in the most gorgeous children ever. I mean, look at these two! They are so stunning, so full of life, and so ridiculously happy and good that my cheeks hurt from smiling after their engagement session and also hurt from smiling just from writing this blog post. I love this couple and am so excited to share their photographs!
