I love everything about engagement sessions.
The first time I photographed an engagement session, I totally choked. I didn’t know what to say or how to pose my couple or even how to dress myself. Years and years (and years!) later, I finally know how to dress myself (printed leggings that can get ripped and/or muddy + boots + an oversized shirt, obviously) and, much more importantly, I’ve learned that every single engagement (or couple!) session comes down to one thing and one thing alone: The Couple.
I know! It’s revolutionary, right? (Ha!) Every single couple is different and, because every single couple is different, every engagement session should be different. I mean, Andrew and I love walking around farmer’s markets and antique stores and we really, really like going out to eat and talking about books and movies and we also love listening to music and falling asleep on the couch and, while lots of couples love those things, not every couple loves those things. That’s what I love most about engagement sessions! Just like every individual people, couples have their own likes and dislikes and, best of all, I love how engagement sessions let me get to know my couples in a way I wouldn’t be able to otherwise and I love that, when it comes down to it, every single engagement session is just a celebration of two people in love. It’s totally cheesy and I sound totally corny, but I LOVE that!
So! Let’s talk about Tina and Andrew! I first met Andrew at Shay and Lawson’s wedding at Lake Wedington (he was also a groomsmen at Carrie and Mitchell’s Fayetteville wedding!) and, when he contacted me after he proposed to Tina, I was super excited. Tina and Andrew are such good people – not only are they super in love and super giggly and super cute and flirty (and did I mention giggly? Tina, I’m totally looking at you!) but they are also just the kind of people that, when you walk away from them, you just feel like you’ve changed a little bit for the better – and I am so thrilled to be photographing their wedding in the fall. I absolutely love these two, their super laid back style, and the way that they are, like, totally and absolutely into each other.
Also! Andrew proposed to Tina by writing her a letter for her to read on an airplane and then proposed to her after she landed. And if that’s not amazingly romantic, I’m not even sure what romance is.
Here are Tina and Andrew, y’all! I cannot wait to (finally!) share these photographs!
