Our 2015 has been so much fun so far!
Not going to lie – it kind of started out as a bust. We spent Christmas in Kansas City and, although we were totally thrilled to spend the holidays with the majority of my family (we missed you Josh, Ana, and Wyatt!) it was basically like we stepped into a hospital as soon as we arrived. Everyone was sick and, honestly, the next ten days were centered around people dropping like flies. Somehow, Andrew was the only one who escaped unscathed but my parents’ house had everything floating around – from pink eye to fevers to a spotty rash that covered all of Max’s body (which he was totally thrilled about and went around saying “I’m a leopard!” for two days) to the flu to dog allergies – the house was full of chaos. It was kind of sad but kind of hilarious and, when our car ended up in the shop on the day we were supposed to leave, I was totally bummed (I had the cutest shoot planned for that Saturday!) but, on the other hand, it was really, really nice to just hang out around the fire with family for two extra days.
I mean, I’m totally biased but my family is kind of awesome. And since we arrived home a week ago? We’ve baked lots of cookies and watched lots of movies and worn lots of pajamas and slippers and ate lots of homemade meals and, honestly, I really just took most of last week off and read lots of books (both to myself and to my kids) and my kids have been playing with Lego’s for, like, three hours every day (sometimes six!) and, if you’re asking me – despite the sickness that carried on until the 8th or 9th (it’s finally gone!), this year has pretty much been heaven. I’ve loved it!
Also, how cute are Andrew and Henry?! I already shared these photographs on my Facebook Page but I’m sharing them here too because I absolutely adore them!
