There’s something totally magic about senior sessions.
One of my favorite things about senior sessions is that they are the only kind of session that are totally, uniquely, and one hundred percent about the person in the photographs. When I photograph a couple, I photograph their love and their personalities together. When I photograph a bride, I photograph her at one of the happiest times of her life and, since she is in love and about to get married, I’m photographing that love, even if the groom is not there. When I photograph a family, I’m photographing the entire family. Not even newborn sessions are just about the baby – newborn sessions are about wonder and joy and excitement and about how much love that family is feeling.
And then there’s senior sessions.
There is something so awesome about being able to photograph high school seniors in a way that highlights their personalities and interests and that little something special that makes them themselves. When I photograph a senior, I am always blown away by how individual each senior is, how easily they let me get to know them, and just the sheer excitement they bring to their session. I’m so lucky to be able to photograph so many wonderful girls and, every once in a while, I have a session and it hits me extra hard how amazing this job is. Megan’s session was absolutely one of these sessions. I mean, this girl is just so amazing.
My favorite thing about Megan was how easily she went with the flow. She was so relaxed during her session – from a tiny field off of a busy road to a pool parking lot to walking up and seeing that the Fayetteville Public Library was closed for a special appearance to switching our last location on the spot – she was so easygoing and so fun to photograph and I so loved getting to know her at her session! Megan is a (gorgeous!!) senior at HarBer High School in Rogers who loves all things vintage, plays the oboe, loves reading (me too!), coffee, and, according to her mom, wears a beanie whenever possible. This girl is awesome.
