This time of year, Monday is like our Saturday.
It’s not Andrew’s Saturday, of course- he still has to join the world of the living and go to work bright and early- but for me, Max, and Henry, Monday is basically our Saturday. We sleep in, watch movies, wear our pajamas, eat lots of snacks and, most of the time, order in dinner, too.
It’s probably my favorite day of the week.
And Max? It is definitely his favorite part of the week. He lives for it and, even cuter, he calls it PAND-jama day and it is probably the cutest thing in my life right now. He’ll tear into our room as soon as the sun is up, yell “Can we have a PAND-jama day?!” and, before I can answer or even open my eyes or tell him to go back to sleep because it’s only six o’clock, he’ll pop into our bed with his pajamas of choice, already taking off the ones he slept in.
Today, he picked baseball pajamas.
Our pajama day went as most pajamas do- Henry watched Frozen and Max watched a Lego cartoon and the boy spilled Cheez-It’s all over the floor and Henry drank five hundred cups of chocolate milk and I had to vacuum three times in a row and the boys laid on their bellies playing with cars and trains and every single super hero ever known to man and had an awesome fake Saturday. And then! When Henry went down for his nap, something magic happened. Max asked for his fourth Band-Aid in a row (No, he wasn’t hurt. Yes, he really loves Band-Aids) and instead of giving home one, I looked at him and said “You know what? I’ll give you a Band-Aid if you let me take your picture”.
To which he said, “Really?!?!” and gave me this face:
This kid loves Band-Aids of all shapes and sizes but, right now, we have Ninja Turtle Band-Aids which makes them five hundred percent cooler than usual. They’re a seriously hot commodity, as illustrated by the photographs below. This guy- who recently named himself Maxwell Cool Shoes Something-Else Chandler- never lets me take his photograph and I am loving these photographs of him!
I mean, how could you not love this face? He is awesome. And full of Band-Aids.
