Madison’s water session was one of my favorite sessions of the summer. I loved it and was so honored when it was featured on Lemonade and Lenses. I have lots of favorites from this session but as I was searching for a good before and after photograph, I automatically thought of this one. I shot this photograph with a Canon 5d Mark II and a 135L while laying on my stomach on a rock half covered in water. My lens was maybe two centimeters above the water and I had to hold my hand underneath it to make sure it didn’t slip. These factors, combined with the fact that Madison was floating in less than a foot of water (making it really difficult to float!), I wasn’t sure if we got the photograph I wanted. But! We nailed it! I love this shot and, when I’m old and gray and looking back at all the photographs I took in my life, I’m pretty sure this will be one of my favorites. Here’s the before and after!
