I met my husband on his twenty-second birthday.
Kinda.
We’d seen each other a few months before and had several mutual friends, but whenever I showed up in a group, he would stand silently or would slink away before we were ever introduced. At first I didn’t really notice, but when my friends told me about how funny and awesome he was, I was a little annoyed that he would ignore me, so I ignored him straight back. But! On his twenty-second birthday, we both stopped down to pick a paint bottle off the floor and I said something along the lines of “Hi!” and “Happy Birthday!” and, five minutes later, he walked up to me blushing and asked me if I knew one of our mutual friends (which I did!). We kept talking for five hours and haven’t stopped talking since. I don’t really photograph him much without a kid hanging from an arm, but I took these this weekend and had to share! I’m totally biased, but I think he’s dreamy.
