My sister has the most AMAZING curly hair.
I’m sure people say that about their sisters all the time, but my sister has the kind of hair that you’re (read: I’m) kind of insanely jealous of, even though you’ve watched her scream and run away from a brush at the age of three and even though you’ve sat on her bed with her at, well, every age from two until twenty-two, watching her try and detangle her mane of curls, the word “ouch!” coming from her lips among other words about school or music or boys or how easy it is to make cake balls dipped in homemade frosting. I mean, beauty is pain, right? And the pain Anna’s gone through for her naturally curly locks? Totally worth it! At least, I believe it is (my mom does, too).
Thanks for being born beautiful, Anna!

Lissa lives in Fayetteville with her family: a husband who wore his son’s skinny tie underneath a vest today and somehow pulled it off, a two year old who stuck his toys in the oven and caused an enormous oven fire during a snowy day, a four month old who fell asleep before his bath for the second night in a row, and a shaggy dog, Napoleon, who she frequently mistakes for a teddy bear. Lissa often travels to the Greater Kansas City area and is available for travel nationwide. *

She is beautiful! And these are gorgeous portraits! I especially love the b&w ones…oh, I can kind of relate to her- my hair isn’t as curly but is incredibly thick and almost always tangled up. Everyone always says they wish they had it, and I’m like “please take it!” Or some of it, anyway 🙂
